St. Clair Shores lay’s claim to the "Hockeytown USA" moniker it’s renowned throughout both the USA and Canada. Once the home to the United States first privately owned indoor ice hockey arena, Gordie Howe Hockeyland, St. Clair Shores also boasts two municipal indoor ice arenas at its civic recreation center.

Warren is the third largest city in Michigan. The city is home to a wide variety of businesses, including General Motors Technical Center, Detroit Arsenal, TACOM and the headquarters of Big Boy Restaurants International.
Sterling Heights is considered an integral part of the greater Detroit Metropolitan area. However, back in 1900, the trek from Sterling Township to Detroit was a half-day horseback trip on a rough clay Van Dyke road. Residents relied on Utica Road, a planked toll street, and the Clinton River to transport their goods to market.
Historically, Mount Clemens' largest industry for more than 100 years, was tourism related to the mineral baths. Over the years, noted visitors such as film actors Clark Gable and Mae West, athletes Babe Ruth and Jack Dempsey, news magnate William Randolph Hearst, and the wealthy Vanderbilt family vacationed in the city to take advantage of the mineral springs baths.
